Joy-Anna Duggar broke a strict family rule as she showed off her recent underwear shopping spree in shocking new Instagram post.
Joy-Anna, 27, is the fifth daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who were the stars of the famous TLC Show 19 Kids and Counting.
The Duggar family were known for having very strict, conservative rules while growing up, as they were members of the devout Christian group, The Institute in Basic Life Principle.
Created by shunned minister Bill Gothard, the organization contains a set of incredibly-strict rules that control almost every aspect of members’ lives – including who they should date and how they should dress.
The parents did not believe in birth control, home schooled their children, and had them dress in ‘modest’ clothing, per NBC News.
The women weren’t even allowed to wear jeans, let alone show off their undergarments online – but now, Joy-Anna, who has tried to separate herself from the IBLP, shocked the world by sharing a snap of her underwear to social media.
She posted a photo that contained shared four pairs of ruffled underwear by the brand Danskin to her Instagram Stories this week, taking fans by surprise.

‘Just got these no show underwear and they are 10/10!’ Joy-Anna captioned the snap.
‘Also love the little edging detail,’ she added of the scalloped edges.
She also shared the link with her followers so that they could purchase a pair themselves.
On Reddit, many shared their shock over Joy-Anna’s choice to display her underwear online.
And one even joked that Michelle was probably ‘hyperventilating into a brown paper bag’ over her daughter’s post.
Joy-Anna’s post comes just a year after she opened up about her struggle with postpartum depression.
Joy-Anna is mom to Gideon, seven, Evelyn, four, and Gunner, two.
In 2019, she and her husband Austin Forsyth, tragically lost their daughter, Annabell Forsyth, who died in utero when she was five months along.
