Erin Bates is receiving support from her kids amid her hospitalization.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, Erin’s husband Chad Paine posted an emotional video on Instagram after sharing last week that his wife had a “severe seizure,” days after developing a UTI and kidney infection and going into septic shock following the birth of their seventh child.

In the clip, Chad can be seen reading a letter to his wife from their daughter Brooklyn Elise, 8, as Erin lies in her hospital bed with her eyes closed. The dad of seven holds up the handwritten letter, which also features drawings by Brooklyn, as he reads aloud.

“I’m praying for you, and I hope I can see you so soon. I love you, and I know you love me back. I wish I could see you now,” reads Chad through tears. “‘I’ve been waiting every second — one, two, three — for you. Well, Mom, I know however long you stay there, I’ll be right here waiting on you.'”

“And then she drew a happy face and a bow,” he continues. “She says, ‘Mom, I will love you whatever happens. And it’s hard for me and you, but there’s a good thing you can see and cannot see. God never said it was going to be okay. But I know you can do this. I love you.’ And there’s Brooklyn, you, and little Henry. She says, ‘Love always, Brooklyn, your daughter.’”

After he finished reading the letter, Chad bent his head down to rest on his wife’s forehead. “I miss them,” Erin whispers. “I know, I miss them too,” Chad replies.

In his caption, Chad mentioned that the two will never forget the sweet letter their daughter wrote Erin.

“A moment we never want to forget. 😭 Being away from our babies has been harder than we ever imagined,” he captioned the video. “💔 Our hearts ache to be together again. #familystrong #nicu #emotional.”

On Sept. 9, Chad revealed on Instagram that Erin would be continuing her recovery at a new hospital after suffering complications following the birth of their seventh baby.

“Yesterday, Erin was transferred to a new hospital where a team of doctors is working together to help her improve. The nurses have been so compassionate and have become like family to us,” he wrote, alongside a video of himself stroking his wife’s face and holding her hand as she cried in her hospital bed.

“Recovery is not fast or easy, but we are deeply thankful for every small step forward,” he added in the post.

Last week, Chad shared that Erin — who is the second-eldest of Bringing Up Bates stars Gil and Kelly Jo’s children — had “complications” during the birth of their youngest, son Henry Blythe. He said she developed “a severe UTI and kidney infection, which sent her into septic shock” and asked for fans to pray for her recovery.

A few days later, he shared that his wife “suffered a lengthy and severe seizure” during her recovery and was “extremely weak,” spending “hours only half conscious.” He noted at the time that doctors were trying to determine the cause of the seizure.
