Jessa Duggar Details Difficulty to “Bounce Back” After Gaining Baby Weight
Jessa Duggar is getting candid about her weight after giving birth to her and husband Ben Seewald‘s sixth baby.
As she prepares to transition back to her regular workout routine, the 19 Kids and Counting alum shared how “frustrating” it was to find that none of her pre-pregnancy clothing can fit her postpartum body.
“As far as the weight loss goes, I usually gain at least 40 pounds in every pregnancy,” Jessa began in a Sept. 15 YouTube video. “This pregnancy with Edward, I gained more like 45 probably.”
While 32-year-old estimated that “probably half of that weight’s gone just from giving birth,” she still quipped, “Boy, I still have a long ways to go.”
“It never goes down as fast as I want it to,” admitted Jessa, who is also mom to kids Spurgeon, 9, Henry, 8, Ivy, 6, Fern, 4, and George, 20 months. “I try not to let it stress me out too much. If you ask Ben, he’d probably say I do stress about it too much.”
“Ben’s like, ‘Calm down. You literally just gave birth to a human, so you’re fine,'” the Counting On star continued. “I’m like, ‘Nothing fits.'”
In fact, Jessa emphasized she’s “definitely not one of those bounce back, six weeks later wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes” type of moms.
“Everybody’s timeline is different,” she added. “Being older is different, too.”

“I said to Ben, ‘You’ve never cut the cord. You should cut the cord this time,’” she recounted in an August YouTube video. “I know he has a very weak stomach for such things. He’s a huge support and encouragement to me throughout labor, but he doesn’t want to be near all of that.”
Instead, Jordyn got to do the honors since it was her “first time” at one of Jessa’s births. As the mom of six put it, “She was really excited about that.”

Added Ben in the couple’s vlog, “The doctor said, ‘I think that’s a ten pounder. That’s one of the biggest babies I’ve delivered.’”
